Rescue big cats from Oekraïne March 18th 2022

Yesterday morning our drivers Piet and Peter left to pick up four animals at the border of Poland and Ukraine.

After an emergency call, everything was prepared to take care of the animals in Anna Paulowna. Stichting Leeuw is actually full at the moment and is waiting for the papers for the move of Simba,  Stella,  Cesar and Elsa to South Africa, which creates more space. A temporary solution has now been found for the coming period. This involves the care of two male lions (3.5 years and 1.5 years), a tiger male (6 months) and a tigress (5 years). The animals are obviously severely traumatised. The tigress is the worst off of these animals due to malnutrition and disease.
