Ayla Lions

Ayla was born at Stichting Leeuw. A welcome accident.

Father Bakari was said to have been sterilized, but 3 months after Bakari and Jessy arrived at Stichting Leeuw, Ayla was born. Mother Jessy stopped giving milk after 3 weeks and ignored Ayla. Ayla lost a lot of weight in a very short time, causing all alarm bells to go off. Ayla was then taken away from Jessy because otherwise she would not have survived. The caretakers then took care of her at home for 3 months, until she was old enough to stay day and night with Stichting Leeuw.

Ayla is a mischievous, brave lady. She is very similar in appearance and character to her mother Jessy and is now one of the better hunters with the hunting simulator. On May 11, 2016, we paired Ayla with Aslan, and since then the two big cats have been going through life as very good buddies. In the future, Ayla and Aslan will probably also travel to beautiful South Africa!
